Wagoner’s Row Custom Homes Start with Precast Concrete Foundations
When Marra Homes decided to build Wagoner’s Row community in Greenville, Del., U.S.A., they started with quality products — from the ground up. Each of the dozen custom homes begins with a Superior Walls precast concrete foundation.
“We started using Superior Walls products in 2009,” says Adrian Donofrio, vice president of operations with Marra Homes. “We rely on them to give us a finished basement area that surpasses every other option we’ve seen.”
For Wagoner’s Row, the first 55+ exclusive community in the area, XiTM Walls are being installed by Northeast Precast for each home.
“From a builder’s perspective, Superior Walls makes it easy,” says Donofrio. “Their team can customize any foundation wall we need, install it quickly and easily, and there’s a distinct cleanliness of the finished product when it’s completed. We’re ready to start building the very next day.”
Energy Efficient Construction
For Marra Homes, the Xi panels are just one aspect of the energy efficiency features being created in the million-dollar-plus homes at Wagoner’s Row. They’re also including high efficiency HVAC systems, Low E windows and spray foam insulation.
Starting from the bottom up with energy efficiency, the patented design and construction features of the Xi wall system includes one-inch foam insulated concrete studs and one-inch foam insulation on the bond beams. This helps ensure energy efficiency in the home. Facing against the environment, the panels have a concrete face shell backed by 2-1/2-inches of DOW® extruded polystyrene insulation in the Xi wall.
“Over the years our customers have been continuously happy with the finished quality of their interior basements when we use Superior Walls products,” says Donofrio. “We’re pleased that the Superior Walls product gives our customers an energy-efficient home foundation plus comfortable added living space in the basement.”
Located along the Brandywine Scenic Byway, Wagoner’s Row features 12 unique homes ranging from 2,600 to 3,500 square feet. No two homes will be alike and homebuyers can select from 14 customizable designs. For more information visit www.marrahomes.com.
